Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin posted a tweet on March 24 claiming that the continuing lack of easy movement between the Ethereum and Bitcoin networks was embarrassing. As a solution, he proposed putting resources into building a decentralized exchange (DEX), to act as a trustless bridge between the two. DEX should be trustless, serverless and Uniswap-like Buterin’s plan calls for the DEX to be trustless and serverless, with a user experience very similar to Uniswap. Uniswap is a decentralized exchange that runs without an order book, instead relying on asset pairs with Ether as a fixed base currency. As Cointelegraph reported, …
Ethereum co-founder, Vitalik Buterin, revealed his personal roadmap for ETH 2.0 in a tweet on March 18. The post covers the next 5 to 10 years of the project’s development. Progress is in action In the post, Vitalik emphasized that research and development will continue regardless of recent challenges. In addition, he pointed out there should be less fear of complexity with the system update, noting that many of the upcoming changes will address these previously noted issues. He added that: “The "quadratic sharding as end of history" approach ensures there will not need to be a further upgrade as …

While Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey could potentially be ousted by investors, at least two major figures in the crypto industry have already voiced support for the exec. Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of major cryptocurrency project Ethereum, and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who is known for his active endorsement to crypto, do not want Dorsey to step down from his position at Twitter. Musk simply stated: “Just want say that I support @Jack as Twitter CEO. He has a good [heart].” Buterin specifically questioned the competence of a new potential CEO that would replace Dorsey, saying: “I also #StandWithJack. Twitter certainly has …
Ethereum (ETH) co-founder Vitalik Buterin does not believe that the popular stock-to-flow model is useful for predicting the Bitcoin (BTC) price. In a Twitter debate on Feb. 27, Buterin became the second well-known figure to criticize stock-to-flow, which calls for BTC/USD to trade at an average $100,000 between 2021 and 2024. Buterin: stock-to-flow forecasts “part of the 95%” The model has been historically accurate at predicting Bitcoin’s growth and currently calls for an average of around $8,606. After trading at more than 20% higher, Bitcoin this week fell to within $200 of that target. For Buterin, however, stock-to-flow is a …

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin discussed plans for Ethereum 2.0 during an exclusive interview with Cointelegraph on Feb.19 at the Stanford Blockchain Conference. Buterin explained that the major development for ETH 2.0 over the course of this year is the launch of Phase 0. He said: “Phase 0 is the first phase of the Ethereum 2.0 launch. This will release the proof-of-stake network, which will come online this year.” While the official launch date of Phase 0 is still unknown, Buterin explained that Phase 0 is close to having a multi-client testnet and audits of the existing code. He noted: “A …
Cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology were meant to liberate the oppressed, bank the unbanked and democratize countries with opaque authoritarian governments. Whether or not the crypto sector has actually achieved these goals remains a topic of debate, but it is fair to say that a surprising number of crypto startups, initial coin offerings and blockchain companies have either missed the mark or proven to be outright scams. But Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has been unassailable in his mission to build the “World Computer.” Since piecing together a revolutionary white paper in 2013, the soft-spoken genius behind the Ethereum project and Ether …
The development team behind Ethereum 2.0 held an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session on Feb. 5. The team answered some of the most pressing questions on Serenity, in addition to general themes such as Proof of Stake (PoS). There have been two other such sessions, six months and one year ago, respectively. While no groundbreaking changes occurred since the last AMA, the team is making concrete steps toward Ethereum (ETH) scalability. Phase 0 to come in 2020 Answering questions on what has changed in Ethereum 2.0 since the last AMA in June, the team generally agreed that most features remained …
In a recent tweet, Ethereum network co-founder Vitalik Buterin said Bitcoin (BTC) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) are not the same. “Bitcoin Cash is not Bitcoin,” Buterin said in a Feb 1 tweet responding to Brad Mills’ accusation of Buterin as Bitcoin Cash promoter. Several tweets exist that might suggest Buterin is not 100% against BCH, although he clearly made the distinction that BCH is not BTC, even back in 2017. Vitalik’s history with BCH Several months after a 2017 hard fork divided BTC into two coins, BTC and BCH, Buterin tweeted a seemingly positive comment toward BCH. “I consider BCH …
Changpeng Zhao, the co-founder and CEO of cryptocurrency exchange Binance, suggested that for most, keeping crypto assets on an exchange is safer than keeping the keys themselves. Zhao gave his comments in a tweet on Jan. 19 after famous crypto skeptic and gold bug Peter Schiff complained that he lost access to his Bitcoin (BTC). Invoking the phrase “SAFU” — a slanger term in the crypto community for “safe,” Zhao said: “Many hardcore crypto [organizations] advocate storing your own keys. But the truth is, today most people are not able to secure a key even from themselves (losing it). A …
