This DEX functions as public infrastructure for an ecosystem - AMA with Crescent

Published at: Feb. 20, 2023

The DeFi space, a vibrant branch of the blockchain industry, continues to grow and develop despite the bearish conditions experienced in 2022. Revolutionary DEXs are transforming the crypto trading scene, and decentralized solutions are increasingly finding application in the traditional economic space.

However, the DeFi ecosystem still faces various challenges due to its early stages of development. These include liquidity inefficiency, security concerns and regulatory uncertainties. To address these challenges, the key lies in creating trading platforms that offer deep liquidity pools, enabling trades to be executed efficiently and promptly.

Better access to liquidity and public goods with Crescent

The Crescent Network is a decentralized exchange platform that enables users to trade digital assets in a permissionless and trustless manner. What sets Crescent apart from other DEXs is its unique architecture that offers fast and secure transactions, low transaction fees and high liquidity through an orderbook/AMM hybrid model. Moreover, Crescent offers an intuitive user interface that makes it easy for users to navigate and execute trades.

Initially built on the Cosmos Hub as Gravity DEX, Crescent recently migrated to its own chain, known as the Crescent Network. The move aimed primarily at improving the network’s performance and scalability while maintaining the same level of security and decentralization, while gifting the Cosmos Ecosystem with a liquidity incubation solution as a public infrastructure

One of the most significant challenges in the DeFi space is liquidity inefficiency, where traders face difficulties in buying and selling digital assets due to the lack of liquidity. This is where Crescent has focused on delivering solutions. By offering an automated market-making algorithm that ensures there is always sufficient liquidity in the market, the Crescent trading suite of products creates a reliable DeFi space for traders. While this method has been tried and tested, Crescent also solves the sustainability issue by combining orderbook with AMM, allowing for a lasting method of liquidity provision.

To prevent fraud and manipulation on the platform, Crescent has several measures in place, including an advanced monitoring system that detects and flags suspicious activities. Additionally, Crescent implements a multisignature wallet system that requires multiple parties to sign off on transactions, ensuring that no single individual can manipulate the system.

While Crescent has made significant strides in solving the challenges facing the DeFi ecosystem, there are still many other solutions that it has not yet covered. This is where the community comes in.

Altcoin Roundup: JunoSwap, Solidly and VVS Finance give DeFi a much-needed refresh
Decentralized finance (DeFi) was the talk of the town in early 2021, but it has since taken a back seat to more appealing sectors like nonfungible tokens (NFTs), memecoins and blockchain gaming. Now that cross-chain bridges and interoperability have allowed for the easier migration of assets to competing chains, a new class of DeFi protocols is arising to challenge those left from 2021. Here’s a look at three DeFi projects that have launched on some of the up-and-coming layer-1 blockchain networks, catching the eye of the crypto community. Industry execs confident in DeFi adoption despite security flaws: Finance Redefined
Welcome to Finance Redefined, your weekly dose of essential decentralized finance (DeFi) insights — a newsletter crafted to bring you significant developments over the last week. Industry experts are confident in DeFi and believe the sector would continue to see adoption despite its security flaws, primarily due to the mammoth failure of centralized exchanges. Despite the continued growth, however, the decentralized exchanges have lost $30 million on liquidity provider incentives. Popular hardware crypto wallet Ledger introduced a new DeFi tracking feature that pairs with its hardware wallets to monitor performance analytics of over 1,000 protocols. Cross-chain liquidity aggregation as the future of DEXs | Q&A with Chainge
Many decentralized exchanges boast cross-chain capabilities, but in fact, the majority of them simply use bridging technology to perform swaps. To bring complete decentralization to crypto trading, one exchange has developed a fully cross-chain liquidity aggregation mechanic that does not rely on bridging. Find out more about cross-chain liquidity in the latest Cointelegraph interview with Chainge founder Dejun Qian. Q: What is the biggest problem facing DEXes at the moment, and why is it such a challenge? DEXs have several problems, among which the most notable are: lack of liquidity, inefficient/hazardous interoperability solutions, and user experience. The first two issues …

How DeFi aggregators optimize DEX trading
The rapid downfall of FTX has hastened the shift from centralized exchanges (CEXs) to decentralized exchanges (DEXs), but selecting the right DEX is not an easy task. Besides looking for convenience and an intuitive interface, crypto traders face several challenges with DEXs that can greatly affect their trading activity. The problem is that many traders are unaware of some of these challenges because some DEXs don’t provide enough information to simplify the trading process. This leaves many crypto traders vulnerable to several DEX risks, such as: Price impact — the risk of the trade being executed at a worse price …
