Bitcoin miners as energy buyers, explained
How do renewable energy resources benefit Bitcoin mining in rural areas? Renewable energy sources offer a more reliable power supply for Bitcoin mining operations since they are less prone to experiencing power disruptions. Additionally, using sustainable energy for Bitcoin mining can support job growth and economic expansion in rural areas. In the context of Bitcoin, gridless computing, which refers to the usage of alternative computing resources such as edge devices, can encourage the use of renewable energy resources to mine BTC in Africa. That said, gridless computing offers an alternative to the centralized electrical grid, which is often unreliable or …

2023 is a make-or-break year for blockchain gaming: Play-to-own
Will 2023 finally see an explosion of crypto gaming? The signs are mixed, with former play-to-earn darling Axie Infinity falling out of favor and hemorrhaging players, while mainstream gamers report that Web3 games still have playability issues. The bright spot is that AAA games are finally starting to emerge in Web3, with projects like Illuvium garnering attention. And theres a ton of runaway, considering that Web3 gaming raised $4.5 billion in 2022. For comparison, metaverse projects raised $1.9 billion. The thesis is compelling for crypto gaming, but the way forward is unclear. Do tokenomics help immerse gamers in a game, …

Multichain DEXs are on the rise with new protocols enabling them
Decentralized exchanges (DEXs) have become increasingly popular in recent years due to their ability to offer users a high degree of control over their assets and a more secure trading environment than centralized exchanges. However, one major limitation of DEXs is their inability to support cross-chain and margin trading. There are multiple decentralized exchange protocols that aim to overcome this limitation by enabling DEXs to support cross-chain trading, margin trading and other features. Injective Protocol is a decentralized exchange protocol built on Cosmos, a decentralized and interoperable blockchain ecosystem. Injective Protocol enables DEXs to support cross-chain trading and margin trading, …

Bitcoin is already in its 'next bull market cycle' — Pantera Capital
BItcoin (BTC) is beginning its “seventh bull cycle” and investors should not be scared of crypto post-FTX, Pantera Capital believes. In its latest “Blockchain Letter” on Feb. 8, the asset management firm’s CEO, Dan Morehead, predicted that 2023 would be a “year for rebuilding trust.” Morehead: Cryptoassets have "seen the lows" this cycle With BTC price action retracing slightly after gaining 40% in January, some market participants still insist that new macro lows are due across crypto assets. While the timing for such a scenario varies, consensus remains absent when it comes to how the market will rebound. For Morehead, …

This layer 1 blockchain offers a unique decentralized interoperability solution
Blockchain interoperability is one of the most important goals to ensure that the industry becomes future-proofed. Smooth cross-chain communication and flow of value are essential for efficient transactions and use cases. By addressing the fragmentation of Layer-1 networks, the blockchain industry can improve user experience, open new opportunities for collaboration, overcome its speed and scalability limitations, and accelerate the adoption of the technology across all major industries. The problem of cross-chain solutions While blockchain market participants realized the importance of interoperability long ago, we still don’t have decentralized systems that can work together smoothly, securely, and on a large scale. …

Bitcoin logo imperfection found on original artwork after 12 years
While Satoshi Nakamoto is credited as the anonymous creator of Bitcoin (BTC), what often goes unnoticed are the selfless contributions of the community members — miners, developers, designers, hodlers and investors — that help materialize the original vision. However, one such significant contribution was found to carry an imperfection for over 12 years, invisible to the naked eye. On Nov. 12, 2010, bitcointalk.org member bitboy (not related to YouTuber BitBoy Crypto) posted the vector files of the iconic Bitcoin logo, which has been widely accepted worldwide. Kazakhstan, one of the biggest Bitcoin (BTC) mining hubs in the world, announced plans to introduce new crypto regulations aimed at reducing tax fraud and unlawful business operations. A new law signed by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on Feb. 6 reinstated the nation’s stand against the unlawful mining operations and issuance of crypto assets. Out of the two distinct legislations, the first requires the secured digital assets issuers to have the government’s permission.
