Survey: Lower-Income Populations Are More Likely to Adopt Bitcoin
The 2014 Survey of Bitcoin Polling, was released earlier this week by the Bitcoin Knowledge, Use, and Opinion (BitKOU) project. The report suggests that lower-income populations are more likely to adopt Bitcoin, and recommends greater effort on building knowledge and trust among general publics. The 2014 Survey of Bitcoin Polling, which included a "meta-analysis" consisting of 21 existing English language public polling data about Bitcoin, found that across various population segments from different geographical areas, knowledge is low, trust is weak, and adoption rates among customers and merchants are slow. EBay CEO ‘Very Open’ to Bitcoin, will ‘Likely’ follow PayPal
EBay.com president Devin Wenig has stated he is “very open” to Bitcoin and that eBay “will probably experiment” with the digital currency in the future. In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Weng explained that PayPal’s current activities in the space would be mimicked due to the companies’ “long-term” ongoing cooperation. He said: “Both eBay and PayPal are open to [Bitcoin]—PayPal is experimenting with it—and through our relationship we’re likely to do the same. I am very open to it.” The declaration comes as the future of the eBay-PayPal relationship is in planning following the split earlier this year. …

On October 15, Peter Thiel was invited to the University of Chicago Booth School of Business to speak about entrepreneurship and business practices for an event organized by the Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. The event was hosted by Booth School of Business' Norman R.
