Gemini users can now buy Bitcoin with Apple Pay and Google Pay
Major American cryptocurrency exchange Gemini now lets its users purchase cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (BTC) with Apple Pay and Google Pay. According to a Thursday announcement, Gemini users can now connect their debit cards to Apple Pay or Google Pay for buying crypto with fiat on the platform. The firm noted that user funds will be available to withdraw one hour after a purchase was made. Coinbase hires former Google Pay exec to lead India operations
Coinbase, a major cryptocurrency exchange that went public on Nasdaq earlier this month, continues to actively expand in India with a new hire. The cryptocurrency exchange has hired Pankaj Gupta, a former Google Pay engineering lead in India and Asia Pacific, as the vice president of engineering and site lead for India. Google Cloud integrates Band Protocol for real-time crypto price data
Google Cloud is incorporating core technology from Band Protocol, a decentralized oracle service, to enable “immediate and accurate analysis of financial time series data,” according to Kevin Lu, head of business development at Band. Brave acquires search engine in bid to offer alternative to Google Search
Major privacy-focused browser Brave is inching closer to offering a private search engine. Brave announced Wednesday that the company has acquired Tailcat, an open search engine developed by a group formerly working on privacy search and browser products at Cliqz. Sony's European subsidiary is the latest company to join the validator program of the Theta Network, a decentralized blockchain-based video protocol.
