Data from bitcoin processor suggests crypto winter is not affecting widespread adoption
If it wasn't devastating enough for investors to see cryptocurrencies lose nearly $2 trillion in value since the height of the 2021 rally, analysts have predicted that the most recent plunge isn't a traditional market pullback. Instead of distinguishing between a market pullback and a longer-term decline, the industry has already shown signs of the more dreaded "the crypto winter." For context, unlike last year's BTC plunge from $64,000 to $30,000, which occured in a matter of weeks, only to be followed by a stunning rebound to a new record of $68,700, the cooling prices evident in 2022 are making …

This crypto wallet was criticized by Elon Musk, but turned this into an opportunity
Negative feedback is never nice — especially when it comes from a high-profile individual. This is something that happened to Freewallet not too long ago, but the one-stop digital finance app turned this into an opportunity… and became stronger as a result. It all began back in February 2021, when Elon Musk was continually tweeting about Dogecoin as it enjoyed the unlikeliest of surges from $0.005 to $0.74. Freewallet quote-tweeted Tesla's Technoking as he sang the words "Who let the DOGE out" — adding that "DOGE doesn't stop." But he replied: "Your app sucks." In an example of customer service …

$475M in Bitcoin options expire this week — Are bulls or bears poised to win?
Bitcoin (BTC) has been posting higher lows for the past eight weeks, but during this time, BTC has not been able to flip the $24,000 resistance to support on at least three different opportunities. This is precisely why the $475 million Bitcoin options expiry on Aug. 12 might be a game changer for bulls. Considering the current regulatory pressures in play, there seems to be a good enough rationale for avoiding bullish bets, especially after the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission pressed charges against a former Coinbase manager on illegal securities trading on July 21. The additional impact from the …

5 events that could put an end to the current crypto bear market
Much to the chagrin of cryptocurrency investors across the ecosystem, the bear market has officially set in and brought with it devastating price collapses that have left relatively few unscathed. As the popular topic of conversation now centers on bearish predictions of how low Bitcoin (BTC) will go and how long this iteration of the crypto winter will last, those with more experience on the matter know that it’s virtually impossible to predict the bottom and it would be wise to apply those energies elsewhere. Instead of focusing on the when of the end, perhaps it’s more constructive to explore …

Twitter board recommends shareholders vote for Elon Musk’s takeover
The Twitter board has unanimously recommended that shareholders vote in favor of Elon Musk’s takeover of the social media giant. Twitter’s board of directors initially accepted the $44 billion takeover bid at $54.20 per share in late April, and shareholder approval is the final hurdle to the deal going through bar any potentially erratic antics from Musk. According to a Tuesday United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filing, Twitter’s board of directors unanimously determined that the “merger agreement is advisable” and have called on shareholders to vote in favor of the deal. The board stated that Twitter will be …
