Coinbase transaction revenues plummet 44% as users activity declines in Q3
Crypto exchange Coinbase saw a huge fall in its transaction revenues in the third quarter after activity fell amid a broader market downturn, but managed to cut its losses in half compared to the prior quarter. In its shareholder letter released Nov. 3, the company shared that transaction reven had fallen from $655.2 million in the second quarter to $365.9 million, representing a decline of 44%. Coinbase seeks to join Ripple’s legal fight against the SEC
United States-based crypto exchange Coinbase has become the latest organization to stand behind Ripple Labs n its legal battle against the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), which could wrap up as soon as the first half of 2023. MakerDAO community votes to approve custody of $1.6B USDC with Coinbase
Institutional prime broker platform for crypto assets Coinbase Prime announced on Oct 24th that it had entered into a partnership with MakerDAO — the largest single holder of USDC — to become a custodian of $1.6 billion worth of the stablecoin. USDC adoption is lagging outside of the United States: Coinbase
United States-based cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase says the adoption of USD Coin (USDC) has been “more conservative” outside of the U.S., which it believes is a result of international currency conversion fees. In an Oct. 20 statement, the exchange said there is currently three times more USDC bought with U.S. dollars as compared to other currencies. “Currently, 3x more USDC is bought with USD versus non-USD currencies. In part this is because, outside of the US, users usually have to pay fees in the process of converting their local currency into USDC, and this is a barrier to broader international adoption.” …

Blockchain.com gets regulatory nod from Singapore’s central bank
Crypto exchange Blockchain.com has become the latest crypto company to secure preliminary approval from Singapore’s central bank to provide Digital Payment Token services in the city-state. Breaking: Google taps Coinbase to bring crypto payments to cloud services
Google announced a new deal with Coinbase which will allow a select set of customers to pay for its Cloud services using digital currencies such as Bitcoin (BTC). This will take effect early next year. According to CNBC on Oct. 11, the tech giant also plans to explore using Coinbase Prime, which is a custodial service for storing and trading cryptocurrencies. In return, Coinbase announced it will move some of its applications, which were initially stored using Amazon Web services, over to Google’s cloud. Coinbase gains in-principle approval for Singapore crypto license
The Singapore-based arm of the United States cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase has received “in-principle approval” to provide crypto services in Singapore from its central bank, the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). Speaking to Cointelegraph, Hassan Ahmed, CEO of Coinbase Singapore and the exchanges’ regional director for Southeast Asia, said Singapore is a key institutional market for the exchange in Asia due to businesses there continuing to show interest in and gain exposure to crypto. BlackRock’s newest ETF invests in 35 blockchain-related companies
BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager, has just launched a new exchange-traded fund (ETF) providing European customers with exposure to the blockchain industry, while reports indicate a Metaverse-focused ETF may be on the way. The newly launched blockchain ETF on Sept. 27 is called the iShares Blockchain Technology UCITS ETF (BLKC).
