New analysis suggests Satoshi Nakamoto was a Londoner
A new report has determined that London was the most likely place Satoshi Nakamoto worked on Bitcoin (BTC) between 2008 and 2010. Report author Doncho Karaivanov reviewed several factors in order to justify the conclusion, including an analysis of timestamps of Satoshi’s published materials, his use of regional colloquialisms and word spellings, and the fact that The Times headline embedded in the genesis block was specific to England’s print version of the periodical. The idea that Satoshi was British is not new, as hundreds of journalists, sleuths and investigators have thoroughly pored over traces of the Bitcoin creator’s activity and …

Expect extended downtime. I will post updates here,” a post from earlier today reads. This was followed by an admission that user posts made in the preceding nine hours “may be lost,” and that Bitcointalk was “still trying to recover them.” Some disks seem to have failed. Expect extended downtime. I will post …

The Strange Case of Bitcointalk’s Chinese Ban
In a move no less curious than its previous attempts, China has blocked a popular Bitcoin website from being accessed on its domestic servers – but why? China’s ‘Great Firewall’ has long been the subject variously of wonder and bewilderment, and now it is the turn of arguably the most active Bitcoin forum, Bitcointalk.org, to have the lights turned off. According to a Reddit thread, requests submitted to the testing site greatfirewallofchina.org came back unsuccessful from all provinces’ IP addresses at present. The shift in accessibility came as a surprise to many, especially as it seems to be a one-off …
