Bitcoin due new 'big rally' as RSI copies 2018 bear market recovery
Bitcoin (BTC) is in for a new “big rally” as market strength copies conditions from after the 2018 bear market. According to the latest analysis, BTC/USD will continue to head higher “after some consolidation” thanks to key signals from its relative strength index (RSI). Bitcoin prints never-before-seen bullish divergence With the BTC price gains still coming, Bitcoin bulls are feeling increasingly confident despite widespread mistrust of the longevity of the current rally. For popular trader Crypto Wolf, a key phenomenon now underway sets Bitcoin’s latest recovery apart from all others. RSI, he noted on Jan. 18, had printed a long-awaited …

Dead cat bounce? Bitcoin price nears $23,000 in fresh 5-month high
Bitcoin (BTC) took a swing at $23,000 into Jan. 21 as Asia buyers drove fresh market strength. Bid liquidity causes suspicion Data from Cointelegraph Markets Pro and TradingView showed BTC/USD battling bears to reach $22,790 on Bitstamp overnight — its highest since August. With new multi-month peaks coming in quick succession despite fears of a major correction, Bitcoin continued to surprise as traders cleared the way for more upside. As noted by intraday trader Skew, Asia was leading the way into the weekend, with sellside pressure from market makers being absorbed on exchanges. “Another rally driven by asia bid. TWAP …

Bitcoin price rally provides much needed relief for BTC miners
Bitcoin mining powers network transactions and BTC price. During the 2021 bull run, some mining operations raised funds against their Bitcoin ASICs and BTC reserves. Miners also preordered ASICs at a hefty premium and some raised funds by conducting IPOs. As the crypto market turned bearish and liquidity seized within the sector, miners found themselves in a bad situation and those who were unable to meet their debt obligations were forced to sell the BTC reserves near the market bottom or declare bankruptcy Notable Bitcoin mining bankruptcies in 2022 came from Core Scientific, filing for bankruptcy, but BTC’s early 2023 …

Price analysis 1/20: BTC, ETH, BNB, XRP, ADA, DOGE, MATIC, DOT, LTC, AVAX
The United States equities markets are on track to finish the week in the red but that has not resulted in a deeper loss for Bitcoin (BTC). The news of cryptocurrency lender Genesis filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy also did not have any meaningful impact on Bitcoin’s price. This shows that the selling pressure could be reducing. However, trading firm QCP Capital warned in the latest edition of its regular markets newsletter that the current recovery in Bitcoin was only a bear market relief rally. They anticipate this recovery to be followed by another bout of selling which could sink …

Bitcoin mining in a university dorm: A cooler BTC story
The humble university dorm is a place for students taking their undergraduate degrees to study, rest, make new friends, host wild dorm parties and, of course, mine Bitcoin (BTC). A master’s student in market research and self-described “data guy,” Blake Kaufman, has hooked up an S9 Bitcoin miner to the Bitcoin network. He won the S9 miner in a raffle at a mid-Michigan Bitcoin meetup and immediately set about learning how to use it. Blake has consistently shown up to every https://t.co/2Q6OuIwW4O event with at least one friend, a tremendous attitude, and unmatched enthusiasm. Glad you won the S9 raffle! …

FTX reboot could falter due to long-broken user trust, say observers
Several crypto industry commentators have laid skepticism on FTX CEO John Ray’s vision to potentially reboot the crypto exchange, citing trust issues and “second-class” treatment of customers as some reasons why users may not “feel safe to go back.” Former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried tweeted on Jan. 20 praising John Ray for looking at a reboot of FTX, suggesting it is the best move for its customers. I'm glad Mr. Ray is finally paying lip service to turning the exchange back on after months of squashing such efforts! I'm still waiting for him to finally admit FTX US is solvent …

Bullish crypto traders maintain the upper hand despite the total market cap rejecting at $1T
The total crypto market capitalization soared by 29.4% in two weeks, although Bitcoin's (BTC) price stabilized near $21,000 on Jan. 19. As a result, it became increasingly difficult to justify that the 5-month-long bearish trend still prevails after the $930 billion total crypto channel top has been breached. Still, the psychological $1 trillion resistance remains strong. The move possibly reflects investors becoming more optimistic about risk assets after weaker than expected inflation metrics signaled that United States Federal Reserve interest rate hikes strategy should ease throughout 2023. However, Klaas Knot, who serves as the governor of the Dutch central bank, …

Crypto exchange OKX disclosed $7.5 billion in reserves of Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH) and Tether (USDT) as part of its monthly proof-of-reserves (PoR) report. The report shows current reserve ratios of 105% for BTC, 105% for ETH and 101% for USDT. The term “clean” is used in proofs of reserves to describe crypto assets that do not include an exchange's platform …

Bitcoin price corrected, but bulls are positioned to profit in Friday’s $580M BTC options expiry
Bitcoin (BTC) price has held above $20,700 for 4 days, fueling bulls' hope for another leg up to $23,000 or even $25,000. Behind the optimistic move was a decline in inflationary pressure, confirmed by the December 2022 wholesale prices for goods on Jan. 18. The United States producer price index, which measures final demand prices across hundreds of categories also declined 0.5% versus the previous month. Eurozone inflation also came in at 9.2% year-on-year in December 2022, marking the second consecutive decline from October's 10.7% record high. A milder-than-expected winter reduced the risk of a gas shortages and softened energy …
