Changpeng Zhao, CEO of major cryptocurrency exchange Binance, will be speaking at the Turkish Capital Markets Summit 2019.

On Nov. 1, Cointelegraph Turkish reported that Zhao, also known as CZ within the crypto community, will be going to Turkey to attend and speak at the Capital Market Summit, which will be held in Istanbul from Nov. 19–20, 2019.

The event also includes members of Turkey’s presidential administration. Dr. Ali Taha Koç, the Head of the Digital Transformation Office of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey and Arda Ermut, the Head of the Investment Office of the Presidency are both slated to attend.

The summit also invites major figures in the banking sector, investors and top executives, such as CEO of major holding company Koç Holding, Levent Çakıroğlu

CZ will take the stage on the first day of the event, where Gokhan Seckin, the CEO of digital ID firm Kimlic, will present CZ with a number of questions that are selected by the Turkish community. Seckin told Cointelegraph:

"CZ is very popular among the Turkish Crypto community and he's been expected for some time. I believe the Turkish Capital Markets Summit is a very strategic event as a first appearance in Turkey because it's not a crypto event and is organized by the Turkish Capital Markets Association. I sincerely hope that this will be a catalyst for the crypto trading regulations in Turkey."

According to data from traffic stats tracker SimilarWeb, Turkey is reportedly the country comprising the 3rd most traffic on Binance's website. Binance did not respond to Cointelegraph's request for more information in this regard.

“Vladimir Putin is the most influential person in blockchain”

Nine days after Zhao’s comments at the forum, Binance silently launched ruble trading on its platform, allowing users to deposit and withdraw in RUB.

To list or not to list, Part 2: Binance listing SUSHI was no big deal
Binance’s Changpeng Zhao has received more than his fair share of criticism since Binance’s 2017 launch. Few things are more antithetical to the ethos of decentralized finance than having a single figure being the arbiter of the quality or viability of a project. If crypto and decentralized finance are borne of the desire to democratize financial markets and liberate the public from the …

Launch of Binance US Can Have Far-Reaching Effects on Crypto Market
From the outside looking in, the United States seems to present a host of amazing financial opportunities. However, when it comes to launching cryptocurrency exchanges or altcoin trading platforms, these possibilities start to dwindle and fade quite rapidly. In this regard, over the past few years, the U.S. regulatory landscape has seemed so hostile toward the crypto industry that a number of prominent exchange operators have preferred not to serve U.S. citizens at all — a case in point being Bancor, a decentralized liquidity network, that recently decided to block American citizens from using its website to convert its tokens. …
