More than a quarter of younger Germans is ready to buy cryptocurrencies, according to a recent poll by the German Consumer Centers of Hesse and Saxony published Monday, Nov. 5. Consumer Centers are non-profit, government-backed agencies organized at state level unions. They focus on consumer protection in addition to providing advisory services. The centers of two German federal states, whose populations total over 10 million people, have conducted a joint survey among internet users. North Dakota Securities Commissioner Karen Tyler has issued cease and desist orders against three firms for allegedly offering unregistered and fraudulent securities in the form of Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs), according to an announcement published Oct. 11. The companies at the center of the orders are Crystal Token, Advertiza Holdings (Pty) Ltd., and Life Cross Coin a/k/a LifecrosscoinGmbH. Per the statement, Crystal Token (CYL) is an “evolutionary multi-utility” ERC-20 token, that promises earnings up to two percent per day. The North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA) announced today, August 28, that its ongoing initiative “Operation Cryptosweep” has resulted in over 200 investigations of Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) and crypto-related investment products. State and provincial securities regulators in the U.S. and Canada launched probes into potentially fraudulent crypto investment programs as part of the NASAA’s “Operation Cryptosweep” in May.
